The project involved the construction of two new concrete railway bridges (one for each direction – up and down lines) at track kilometer 9+184 of the railway line, on the section between Platy Railway Station and Technical Site 1 of Thessaloniki. These bridges replaced the existing steel structures.
The two bridges, with a total length of 351 meters, carry a new double-track railway alignment with a total length of 700 meters, including the transition sections beyond the actual bridge spans.
